Welcome to the Blog! A Tanu-Style 'Brief' Intro

2025-02-13

Good morning/afternoon/evening, and welcome to your new digital landing page for the advice, latest innovations, and product reviews you're curious about!

To those who are new here...

I'm Tanu (Tanmya) Tripathi, and for as long as I've been chronically online, I've also been chronically looking for an outlet to publish both code AND writing. Kidding (kinda)! I've been a content creator for around four years now, with most of that time being spent posting on TikTok. However, within the last year, I've METAmorphosed (no pun intended) to the other two platforms out of the Big 3 -- Instagram and YouTube!

Despite all this posting through video formats and pictures, I recently began thinking back to my roots: writing to share my stories. For as long as my memory has been functional, I've loved writing with every creative juice that's in me. I started the Your Student Supporter platform not on social media, but on WordPress. And as a now-college junior, I've evolved as not only a student, but as a person -- so what better way to ground myself and build community once more from the place I started?

But this time, it’s different. Instead of just writing, I built this blog myself—coding the site, designing the experience, and thinking through how users (aka you!) will interact with it. It was my own mini product to ship, and I realized just how much I love blending creativity, technology, and user experience to create something valuable. It’s the same problem-solving mindset that’s driven my work in product management, strategy, and entrepreneurship: understanding people’s needs, designing intuitive experiences, and iterating until I get it right. Even if it's four years from the OG start date.

Besides writing, I've grown to love quite a few things since I first began my content journey back in high school -- one of them being tech, and the other being a deep craving to help people improve. My first blog was all about self-improvement and wellness. At the time, I was dealing with menstrual health issues during the peak of COVID-19 quarantine, and my only wish was to help others who might have been struggling too. That experience shaped how I think about product-building today: start with empathy, identify real user pain points, and create something that makes a difference.

Social media singlehandedly changed my life and gave me a platform to voice all the tips and advice I'd been teaching myself through a harder time in life. Eventually, that platform became something bigger—an outlet to transform the way people embrace their day-to-day activities. One thing led to another, and I fell in love with content. But something else happened, too -- something a little more unexpected.

Growing up, I'd always seen my dad as a software engineer, stubbornly ignoring the curiosity I innately had about the career’s activity because I was instead focused on becoming a writer. But gradually -- very gradually -- when I came to college, I started noticing creative processes through a medium I hadn’t paid attention to before: tech!

Working for a startup in high school turned into treating my own platform as one. I experimented, analyzed engagement, and iterated on what worked -- without realizing I was essentially running my own product. Then, as I went through more established tech opportunities, I finally understood what drew me to coding and product development: it was a way to creatively problem-solve, just like I had always done through writing, content, and even mentoring. Creative problem-solving in tech is the perfect blend of everything I love -- understanding audiences, designing solutions, and bringing ideas to life in a way that truly helps you all empathetically.

With all that, THANK YOU. Thank you for reading, for being here, and for giving me a chance to connect with you. Also, thank you for actually taking the time to read this. Notice I said Tanu-Style brief.... perhaps a little bit different from the standard definition of the word!

This blog isn’t just a creative outlet; it’s also my own little product, and you are my audience! I’ll be posting weekly about all things tech, lifestyle, self-improvement, and random thoughts. This will be a YOU-first place. I am YOUR student (but lowkey almost graduate) supporter, so this is where you’ll find happiness, big sis advice, career tips, and tech musings.

Thank you all for reading once again, and I’m so excited to get started. :)

Hasta luego (from Madrid!!! Forgot to mention that I'm studying abroad here for 5 more months! Hurrah! Tips on that coming soon, too!)
